I have been writing reviews, feature articles and interviews for around 20 years. I initially specialised in music, before branching out into journalism covering comedy, film, theatre and performance art.

I moved to Sheffield in 1977 to attend university, and immediately joined the Entertainments Committee — the team responsible for organising live gigs. I have been involved in Sheffield’s music and performance scene ever since.

More recently, I have worked with Sofar Sounds to promote and stage intimate live music concerts in unusual venues. I also perform regularly across the city and beyond with the Sheffield Samba Band, playing at festivals, private events and any gathering where people love to dance.
